Import dxf using Universal Translator

There are many way of importing dxf into Mapinfo. You can either using Encom Discover addon or mapinfo native tool called Universal Translator.
Universal translator can import external data type such as .dwg, .dxf, ESRI shape files into Mapinfo TAB file or MIF file.
