Install startup manager in debian

Startup manager is used to configures some settings for grub and splash screens (Currently only Usplash). It provides an easy to use interface.

Originally, its an Ubuntu project, but now it runs in Debian.

In this post I’ll try to show you how to install Startup Manager in Debian Lenny.

First download Startup manager 1.9.11 from here, or simply execute from terminal using this command

wget http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/startupmanager/startupmanager_1.9.11-1_all.deb

Then CD to your download directory and install using the following command

sudo dpkg -i startupmanager_1.9.11-1_all.deb

You can access this startup manager from system|administration|startup manager.
