How to install Vmware Workstation 7.0.0 for Linux Full Version in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

Few days ago I installed the new version of Ubuntu Karmic Koala. Then I want to try installing the Vmware Workstation 7.0.0 for Linux in my Ubuntu Karmic Koala. The installation process is very easy and using GUI as main interface with easy steps wizard.

In this tutorial I will show you how to install Vmware Workstation 7.0.0 in Ubuntu karmic Koala.

1. Download the Vmware Workstation 7.0.0 from this website (including keygen).

2. Extract the downloaded file, and it will produce 3 different files. The files are:

- VMware-Workstation-7.0.0-203739_i386-NoTools.bundle

- Instruction.txt

- vmware-keygen_i386

3. Now, open the terminal and “cd” to the directory containing the .bundle file.

3. Then run this command below. This command is to make the file executable (I guess )

sudo chmod +x VMware-Workstation-7.0.0-203739_i386-NoTools.bundle

4. Then run this command to start installing the Vmware Workstation.

sudo ./VMware-Workstation-7.0.0-203739_i386-NoTools.bundle

5. Follow on screen wizard to finish the installation.

Now, the steps below is used to generate the serial number.

1. Open terminal and CD to the directory where the keygen exist.

2. Execute this command below:

 sudo chmod +x vmware-keygen_i386

3. Then run this command:

 Run: ./vmware-keygen_i386

4. After that, copy or write the serial and paste into the vmware workstation. Now you have Vmware Workstation installed on your Ubuntu system and its activated
