This tutorial will show you how to install WinFF GUI in Ubuntu Karmic Koala, but it also may works on previous Ubuntu.

Do you know FFMPEG? FFMPEG is a command line software to convert many video format to other. You can for convert mpeg’s, flv’s, and mov’s, all into avi’s all at once. WinFF is the GUI for ffmpeg. So you will be enabled to convert video using GUI and ffmpeg engine. WinFF is available for Windows 95, 98 , ME, NT, XP, VISTA, and Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat based GNU/Linux distributions. Install WinFF in Ubuntu is very simple, open your terminal and execute this command below.

sudo apt-get install winff

Once you finished installing winff, you can start this program from Applications—>Sound & Video—>WinFF
