How to manually install Picasa 3 on Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10

Here is the manual way of installing Picasa 3.0 in Ubuntu Karmic Koala. This step is for one version install only. With this way of install, you dont have to add repository to you system, so you won’t be notified if there is available update from the Picasa publisher.

System Requirements:

  • Linux system with x86-compatible processor
  • Glibc 2.3.2 or greater, and a working X11 display system
  • 256MB RAM
  • 100MB available hard disk space
  • Desktop Integration features require a current version of Gnome or KDE.
  • Downloading from Picasa Web Albums requires a Mozilla-based browser like Firefox.

1. Download Picasa 3.0 binary file (.deb). Simply click the link below to download the binary Picasa 3.0.

2. Double click the downloaded file to start installing Picasa 3

3. Wait until installation finished. Then you can run Picasa 3.0 from Application | Graphics | Picasa 3. Accept the License Agreement and you are done. Enjoy Picasa 3.0 on Ubuntu karmic Koala.
