Audacity is a free and open source software for audio editing purpose. Available in Linux and Windows. This time I will try to show you how to install the Audacity inside Ubuntu Karmic Koala. Instead of manual install, this time I will install Audacity using graphical user interface (GUI). This is specially for new users of Ubuntu Karmic Koala.

Okay here are the steps to install Audacity in Ubuntu Karmic Koala (9.10)

1. Make sure the universe and multiverse repository is activated. To check this go to System | Administration | Software sources

2. Now go to Application | Ubuntu Software Centre.

3. On the Software centre window, click the Sound & Video button. Then this window will show up.

4. Find the Audacious2 item, highlight and click the small arrow on the right.

5. Click the Install button to start installing Audacious2 on Karmic Koala. You will be asked for root password.
