Finally I was successful installing the Avast Antivirus on my Mandriva One 2010. At the first attempt I always got an error message telling that “A requested package cannot be installed……due to unsatisfied libexpat.so.0)..But now I found the exact solution for this error. Follow my tutorial on how to install Avast Antivirus on Linux Mandriva One 2010.

1. Download the rpm package from Avast website. You will get a package named like: avast4workstation-1.3.0-1.i586.rpm

2. Don’t forget to register to Avast and you will get a registration number. In order to start using Avast for Linux, you must have registration number, so nothing else to do except registering your self.

3. If you finished download the rpm file of Avast Antivirus and you directly install this package, you will get error like I explained at the beginning of this post. So, to skip this error, download this expat-1.95.1-ximian.1.i586.rpm package.

4. So now, you already have the Avast binary file, a registration number and an additional expat-1 package.

5. Now install those package in this order:

- expat-1.95.1-ximian.1.i586.rpm

- avast4workstation-1.3.0-1.i586.rpm

- enter your  registration number, after finished installing Avast.

Note: You can install those .rpm files using this command below (example) or you can also install using GUI (Right click and choose Install with Software Installer)

urpmi expat-1.95.1-ximian.1.i586.rpm
