This tutorial will guide you to the installation of Luminance, a special software for creating HDR (High Dynamic Range) in Ubuntu Karmic Koala. The Luminance can be used to create a stunning HDR image from a series of multi exposures images inside Linux system especially Ubuntu. Now follow this simple steps to install Luminance on Ubuntu Karmic Koala. Please note that this tutorial is specific for Ubuntu Karmic Koala and may not works on other Ubuntu version.

1. First install this small utility to enable one click install capability on your Ubuntu Karmic Koala.

Install getdeb application

2. If your system notify that the getdeb application is already installed jump to step 3.

3. Click the link below to directly start installing Luminance v 2.0

4. Provide your root password when asked and wait until installation process finished.

5. Now you can start using Luminance via Application | Graphics | Luminance HDR
