How to open and view dxf file in Linux

In Windows, there are many application that can open the CAD file, dxf format. But in Linux, there still a few program to open and view the dxf file. This time I will show you how to open and view the dxf file in Linux.

Here, I am using dxf 1.0, inside Mandriva 2010.

Since DXF (Drawing eXchange Formats0 was built using Java, you must have Java (JRE) on your Linux system. To install Java on Linux, follow my previous tutorial.OK Lets begin:

1. Download the dxf 1.0 from here or here.

2. Your downloaded file will be similar to this dxf_build-020307-2347.jar

3. Now run the downloaded file using command:

java -jar dxf_build-020307-2347.jar
