Here is the second Alpha version of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. Ubuntu is the most popular Linux Distro, easy to use, stable and supported by massive community. The Maveric Meerkat 10.10 Alpha 2 brings many new features. But, in this Alpha 2, there are no new artwork have been applied to this version. The final version will be released on October 2010.
What’s new in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat Alpha 2
- Ubuntu will finally have an up-to-date Linux kernel, as the packages were updated to version 2.6.35-6.7, based on Linux kernel 2.6.35 RC3.
- the amazing Btrfs filesystem has been added in Ubuntu 10.10 Alpha 2
- Ubuntu Software Center has been updated to version 2.1.4
- Mozilla Firefox was updated to the brand-new 3.6.6 release

can’t wait to see the new gnome in Meerkat, btw cononical used to realese version 3 times a year, why this year just 2 times (Lucid Lynx and incoming Maverick Meerkat ), i have been looking for this information but not find yet, did you now why ?
