This short tutorial below will guide you to the installation for Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. Its a simple one. To install Java6 on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx here are the complete steps:

- Make sure you activate the required repository. To check this, go to System|Administration|Software Sources. Go to Other Software tab and check both repository listed there. See picture below.

The new version of Pidgin Instant Messaging has been released. In order to install the latest version of Pidgin 2.7 on Ubuntu Karmic Koala, Lucid Lynx, simply follow the tutorial below. This is a short and straight forward tutorial on how to install Pidgin on Ubuntu. This tutorial can be applied to upgrade the current version of Pidgin to the latest version available in Ubuntu PPA.
